1. Rural Education Awareness Programme at Manju T.E Primary and High School.

The NSS unit I and II on 4th April 2022 organised an awareness programme on education at Manju T.E Primary and High School. The aim of this programme was to aware the young minds about the importance of both creative and cognitive development. We organised various competitions like extempore, poetry recitation and painting and also distributed gifts and certificates among the winners and participants.

2. World Environment Day

On 5th and 6th of June 2022, like each year on World Environment Day , we performed two days plantation programme . On the first day our NSS students volunteered for 10km run organised by Lets Go Foundation and later participated on plastic cleanliness programme around mirik lake. On the next day we planted saplings and plants around the campus and hand-picked plastics and indecomposable waste around college.

4. Har Ghar Triranga

 NSS Mirik College observed “Har Ghar Tiranga” performed Awareness Campaign at adopted village Kowley, Mirik on 12th Sept 2022. They also performed Tiranga March from Mirik college to Kowley . The volunteers also gifted Tiranga to every household and urge them to hoist the flag at their house.

5. Covid Vaccination Camp

On 24th Sept ,2022 NSS team volunteered for covid vaccination precaution dose under Jan Abhiyan for 75-day “Covid Vaccination Amrit Mahotsav”.

8. Road Safety Seminar and Awareness Campaign

On 20th March 2023 , NSS unit in collaboration with Motor Vehicle Section, Darjeeling and Darjeeling Police organised a Road safety Seminar and Awareness Campaign .

12. LIFE: Lifestyle for Environment

On 30th May 2023, NSS Unit organised “Mass mobilization programme for mission life: Declaring plastic free zone and plastic clean-up campaign” at mirik bazar. The aim was to aware the mass about increasing use of single use plastic and its hazardous effect on environment.

13. No Tobacco Day

On 31st may 2023 the NSS unit observed NO TOBACCO DAY through wall magazine and speech on the harmful effects of the use of tobacco.

14. Each One Plant One

We observed on 5th June WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY under Mission LIFE project by organising ‘Campus Cleanliness and Tree plantation programme” . Each students and staffs were encouraged to bring atleast one plant to the college to support environmental cause. Through plantation and wall magazine exhibiting importance of tree plantation , the harmful effects deforestation and ways to avoid plastic pollution , the NSS volunteers actively participated for a greater and greener cause.
